Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Maharashtra minister and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat on Tuesday said that the buildings owned by those involved in the NEET paper leak case should be demolished. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, who runs Renukai Chemistry Classes (RCC) in Latur, for his alleged involvement in the NEET-UG exam paper leak case. According to officials, 10 accused have been arrested so far in this case from Delhi, Jaipur, Gurugram, Nashik, Pune, Latur and Ahilyanagar.

Speaking to reporters, Shirsat pointed to the properties and large advertisements of coaching institutes offering NEET preparation. He said, “Even the most prominent leader can’t afford so many advertisements. But if we go to a small village, we’ll find advertisements for coaching classes. This money comes from student fees. Therefore, simply arresting the accused in the NEET case isn’t enough. Their properties must be investigated and confiscated.” The minister further said, “The buildings owned by these arrested individuals should be demolished.”

When asked about opposition parties’ demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, he said it was an internal matter of the government. He said, “Action against the accused is more important. The NEET exam paper leak case is not a small one, and it concerns the future of 2.2 million students. Such incidents should not happen again. Whether to resign or not is a matter for the government and the party.” The CBI had earlier arrested chemistry lecturer P.V. Kulkarni and biology lecturer Manisha Mandhare. Both were identified through a woman, Manisha Waghmare, who is currently in the agency’s custody.
