Haryana. Leaving behind all the controversies, mental pressure and legal hurdles, when India’s star wrestler Vinesh Phogat stepped on the mat again, her old and aggressive style was seen. Vinesh has made a good start as expected in the ongoing selection trials for the Asian Games. Playing in her favorite 53 kg weight category, Vinesh has registered two consecutive wins and has firmly moved forward towards her Asian Games ticket.

One-sided victory in the first round, tough competition from Nishu in the second round

In the first round of the trials, Vinesh faced Jyoti Sihag, a rising wrestler from Haryana. In this match, Vinesh leveraged her experience to the fullest, giving Jyoti no chance to recover and winning by a huge margin of 7-1.

However, the second round wasn’t as easy for her. In the second bout, wrestler Nishu gave Vinesh a tough fight. The match saw a fierce battle between the two wrestlers for every point. Nishu displayed excellent moves, but in the final moments, Vinesh turned the tables with her defense and aggressive counter-attack. The referee ultimately declared Vinesh Phogat the winner by a close margin of 7-6. This thrilling victory made it clear that no matter how many controversies there were outside the ring, Vinesh’s concentration on the mat remains the same.

The Supreme Court had given a big relief, the Federation had suffered a setback

Vinesh Phogat’s participation in these trials was nothing short of a film drama. Just a day earlier, the country’s Supreme Court had granted her conditional permission to participate. In fact, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) had filed a special petition in the Supreme Court to prevent Vinesh from participating in the trials. However, a bench of Justices PS Narasimha and Alok Aradhe rejected the federation’s arguments and ruled in Vinesh’s favor. Thanks to this court decision, Vinesh has been able to prove her mettle on the mat, sparking immense excitement among her fans.
